Do you ever think about the reality of Here and Now....Im not having the best time these days, just so much Im trying to work out and so much worrying I find myself stuck in about the future...My mind is almost always thinking about the future, or thinking about the time when this time Im in now will be over, but today I was struck with the thought of Here and Now, and how it is the only thing we have that we can really be sure of...

...Time will go on,And some stuff is important and some stuff isn't and its that time that is the only thing that can sort out which is which. And that just means the more we live in the present, the more we store up all the memories, good and bad, the more we have to hold on to once people, places, and things are gone.

Things can change forever with, like, no warning. So no matter how much you love something or no matter how much you take it for granted, nothing lasts forever.

So for now, all we can do is hang on and wait and see and hope for the future.....

Sorry if this is a depressing blog entry but I was just struck with the thought of how much the Here and Now is so important, Live your life for today!

Im in Spain, Its my very first time being here, and I love it! I awoke yesterday morning in Cork, Ireland where I live to the sound of Rain pattering on my window, It was 4am so with  much discouragement I got out of bed, got ready and dragged my suitcase in the pouring rain through the city to the taxi rank, I reached the airport wet and cold and shivering, but then got on a plane with my friend Isabelle and ended up here in a small town outside of Malaga in Southern Spain, The weather is so beautiful and so are the surroundings-There are orange trees and olive trees, and white buildings and cobblestone street and tanned Spanish people everywhere, Isabelles family are so nice, and even though they have no English whatsoever their love and kindness radiates through their body language, and the way they smile and make me feel welcome in their home, I´ve never realised its possible to display so much love without uttering a word, They are also feeding me well, I have tried so many good Spanish foods, and this afternoon sampled a selection of Spanish Cakes! Oh Gosh!.....I feel so guilty but Im not in Spain everyday....:-)

In the South of Spain they have Easter Processions in the streets and they are so amazing! I love them, Im someone who has recently has found a great realness in my Christian faith and these processions just bring the Easter story alive for me, Im so thankful to be here...When I get back to Cork I have so much stuff ahead...Exams mainly and then I also have to find a Financial Advising Internship to start in May-but Im here in this little piece of paradise for a few more days and Im going to enjoy. Im pretty much obsessed with the author Jodi Picoult right now, I just finished Change of Heart and loved, loved , loved it so Now Ive started on Nineteen minutes, I just love this authors power of description, how she gets right inside the minds of her characters and writes the thoughts that are so human, that so many of us have but are often too afraid to even admit to ourselves that we think as honestly as she rights them, Nineteen minutes is already gripping me intensely and even though right now its only 11.30 at college, Im looking forward to getting home and getting back to it, (Sad I know!:-)) Other than that life is pretty quiet right now, I went a fabulous retreat last weekend at Navan, in Co. Dublin, It was in a really relaxing retreat centre, and gave me lots of time to chill out as weel as be challenged spiritually and I got to meet a great bunch of new people, Ive been plannning to start writing again, but so far this hasnt happened, Maybe if I start to journal more, I will get more into the practice of writing.

Outside my window...It is sunny and slightly warm and it seems like spring might be coming
I am thinking...I need to be more motivated with doing things that both need to be done and that Id like to get done
I am thankful for...The fact that today is a holiday, as it is St. Patricks Day here in Ireland.
Im learning...How to be a better writer, and how to put it more into practice.
Lunch and dinner will be...Lunch was pasta and meat sauce, and a little slice of apple pie, Dinner is Salmon, Vegetables & Potatoes.
I am wearing...Jeans, a black top and a green sweater.
I am creating...A blog entry! And an apple crumble for dessert tonight
I am going...to stay at home all day and watch tv and movies and surf the net
I am reading...Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult
I am hoping...That this weekend will be as fun as Im hoping it will be
I am hearing...The TV...Im watching my favourite soap on TV called Home and Away
One of my favorite things...Good smelling body lotion on my skin after a refreshing shower
A few plans for the rest of the week:...College tomorrow, coffee dates with friends on both Wed and Thurs nights, and a retreat this weekend.

Today is Pancake Tuesday, I don't know if many of you who read my blog know about Pancake tuesday...but here in Ireland and the UK too I believe, on the Tuesday before lent begins we make pancakes! Its an old tradition that come from the need to use up all the good stuff in the house, flour, eggs, sugar, chocolate so that there would be none of that stuff around during the season of Lent. Of course now adays people actually go out and buy pancake mixes and all the trimmings to make great pancakes. Im having a spanish friend over tonight and we will make pancakes together, mmmm. I love pancakes!

I just read two books in a row which I really didnt like, First of all I read  "Revolutionary Road" and then I read "The Secret Life of Bees" and in my opinion both books were not good at all, I really want a good book to read next, to boost my spirits and to remind me that good books actually exist, Anyone got any suggestions, My weekend has been busy, Yesterday my room mate had her 25th Birthday party so there was a big party at our house, it was okay but Im kind of quiet in comparison to lots of people there so I was lost in the crowd a little, but I still had fun. I also got to go out for lunch with my friend and her husband yesterday, I need to do better with healthy eating this week, this past week I have been so bad with the kinds of junk food I have been eating, so this week things are going to change and I need to keep motivated with excersice

So this is something some of us bloggers are doing, My friend Christa gave me the letter L and I need to list some of the Ls I like, Lets see....

LOVE-I love LOVE, Who doesn't? I love my family and I love my friends, and I love the way they love me back, and even though right now I sort of feel like Mr Right, maybe doesnt exist, that I will never find him, Im striving to believe in that true love, that meeting of minds and souls, and that my best friend and soul mate is out there...somewhere...

LAUGH-I like to laugh, I love that feeling where Im so overcome with Laughter that its uncontrollable and my whole body feels like its getting a workout from it, Its so relaxing

LIVE-Somedays are hard, but I love living, Im truly thankful to be alive.

LEMON-I like this as a flavour, Id never eat a lemon whole, or on its own, but I love lemon sorbet, lemon cake, lemon sweets, sugar and lemon juice on Pancakes..yum

LORELAI-Ok, Im a huge Gilmore Girls fan, and Lorelai is probably my favourite character, I love how she generally has a chilled out attitute

LEFT-Im left handed!

LABRADORS-I love dogs, and I just finished reading Marley and Me with a cute Labrador, They are such fun dogs.

LETTER-We use emails so much these days but I still love to receive a handwritten letter in the post.

LOST-This is a word I identify with alot, somedays I feel lost, not all the time, but Im at a stage in life where Im wondering where Im going.

Do you ever have those days where they are like..boring..Im having a week of those kind of days, Nothing too exciting has happened, Today at college Im taking a day long class on Life Assurance, which adds to the boredom of this day. All I have done is go to college and come home, make dinner and read or watch a movie, My friends are kinda busy this week. Time to read is never wasted time though, Ive been getting through more and more of Marley and Me. Its snowing here in Cork too so all I wanna do is be indoors. I want to get back to some of my craft persuits like knitting and painting, Maybe I'll go to the craft store today and see what I can find...
